Day Trades $AMCN

9:48 AM- Bought 1000 shares of AMCN @ 3.53
Trade Rating upon Purchase- 4*
Reasoning- AMCN spiked big four days ago before consolidating. Yesterday it started to break out of that consolidation and spiked once again. It's resistance was at 3.50 where there was a 400K share seller waiting. It couldn't break it, but it never allowed itself to then fade away and kept testing that 3.50 level. AMCN was already a multi-month breakout, I knew this morning if it could take out that 400k seller it could really breakout. At opening it couldn't take it out, and went down twenty cents, but it quickly went right back to 3.50 and this time took out the big seller. I bought when I saw it was breaking out and my order got filled at 3.53. Unfortunately, it was a fakeout and went right back down immediately. I originally intended my stop to be at 3.45, but it went down so quick I couldn't get rid of my shares until 3.42. I lost 11 cents/share on this order.

10:20 AM- Short-Sell 1000 shares of AMCN @3.45
Trade Rating upon Purchase- 2 1/2*
Reasoning- I promised myself I wouldn't revenge trade and I broke my promise. When it couldn't touch 3.50 again, making lower highs I decided to short sell it. My stop was at 3.51 so the risk was low and I figured since it had finally broke 3.50 and couldn't hold it that it may start really fading and should at least test the LOD. It shortly consolidated after I shorted it, and by 12:00 had started spiking and convincingly broke 3.51 triggering my stop loss. It was a bad trade, the only reason it wasn't a 1* when I shorted it was because of the low risk involved.

Day Recap
Profit- $200
AMCN did eventually do what I was hoping for an convincingly broke 3.50 trigger a huge breakout that I had wanted. I'm writing this at 2:37 PM and it currently is at 3.88, and will probably continue to run higher. Looking back I should've never made the second trade with AMCN. I should've waited for it to break out 3.50 once again, but this time make sure it held it, which it did. If I was really intent on shorting AMCN I should've waited for it to take out the LOD at 3.33 which it never did. Need to start playing these mush smarter.
